Stuff to think about before wakeboarding with Wakeboard San Diego: | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1. What is Wakeboard San Diego?Wakeboard San Diego is a group of wakeboarders with a passion to be on the water. We meet, hang out and go wakeboarding in San Diego year round. We love to meet riders of all abilities and enjoying helping each other get to the next level and we also get together and do other sports, social activities, participate in regional grass roots competitions and create Community Outreach Programs to expose children and adults to the fun involved with wakeboarding. Back to Top2. I've never been wakeboarding! Is that a problem? Not a problem. All you will need is an adventurous attitude and we'll teach you everything else! Many first-time riders have joined us for a maiden session, thus beginning their wakeboarding lifestyle. We'll provide the instructions necessary to pop-up on your first session. Afterwards, sit back, relax and enjoy watching the other wakeboarders. Since our sessions always have a wide variety of wakeboarders, you may learn some new skills while enjoying the ride. Back to Top3. Do I need to have any gear? Not really. We have wakeboards, life vests and some wet suits that are available for everyone to use. Back to Top4. What should I bring to a session?Regardless of the time of year, it can get a little chilly while on
the boat. With that in mind, here's a general list of some things
that people bring:
Our sessions also include a cooler full of refreshments (water, energy drinks) for everyone to enjoy. Back to Top5. Will people laugh at me because I suck at wakeboarding?Yes, definitely. Just kidding. But honestly, if you can't laugh at yourself, you may want to reconsider wakeboarding with Wakeboard San Diego. Trying something new, like wakeboarding, takes you out of a comfort zone and without a doubt, you will fall. Everybody falls, regardless of skill level. It's all about having fun! Back to Top6. How do I reserve a spot on a scheduled session?Email ( iride@wakeboardsandiego.com ) is the most efficient way to find out when we plan to get on the water. To ensure you have a space on the session, feel free to give us a call at 619-807-2005. You may receive a voicemail; however, we will return your call as soon as reasonably possible. Very important...if we say we are having a session at 5:30 p.m., that means we are planning to push away from the dock at 5:30 p.m.. So if you show up 10 minutes late, you may be standing on the dock until we can swing back around to pick you up. Point is, show up a few minutes early. During weekday sessions we are fighting time so when you are late, it's just not fun. Back to Top7. How do I cancel a spot on a session I've committed to attending? It's possible to cancel your attendance on a confirmed session by either email or calling. Let us know, especially if you are the third. Back to Top8. What type of boat does Wakeboard San Diego use for its sessions?Wakeboard San Diego has a Mastercraft Competition Wakeboarding Boat. The boat is 20' long, a v-drive, has three internal ballasts and is rated to hold 11 passengers. To ensure there is plenty of room during available sessions, we target a boat crew of approximately 6 - 8 people per scheduled session. We've found that managing these numbers allows everyone to take enjoyable rides while not pressed for time! Sometimes, the sunset may interfere with these plans. Back to Top9. How do I get on the email list?Just ask. Send your email to iride@wakeboardsandiego.com and request to be on our wakeboarding email list. Back to Top10. Can I bring friends that don't wakeboard, but want to enjoy the ride?Sure. Please confirm how many people are planned to be on a session. Wakeboarders, of course, have first preference. Back to Top11. What is the Cancellation policy? It sucks when people tell us they can't make it so try to show up when you say you will. No flakers. Back to Top12. Does Wakeboard San Diego allow skiers behind the boat? No. Our Mastercraft is specifically designed to pull wakeboarders. The shape of the hull, engine location and the internal ballasts all make the sweetest wake possible for San Diego wakeboarders. If you want to go water skiing, Wakeboard San Diego can refer you to alternative clubs and locations. Back to Top13. Are scheduled sessions ever cancelled?Unfortunately, unforeseen circumstances may require that Wakeboard San Diego cancel a scheduled session. In any case, we will be hoping to get back on the water as immediately possible for everyone to enjoy their next trick. Back to Top14. How often does Wakeboard San Diego go wakeboarding? We try to get on the water as often as possible. On the calendar below, past sessions are indicated in RED! Back to Top
